A Poem is a Small, Small Thing
A poem is a small, small thing.
Hold it up to the sky;
try to hide away the blue.
Fold it into a paper boat
then try to sail the sea alone.
Press it to your heart;
try to stop the bleeding.
A poem is a small, small thing
compared with
the pains of this world
or the love from which it’s born.
